Our Lodge Charity Work

Who are the Elks?

Elks Lodges bring so much more to their communities than just a building, golf course or pool. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up.

Every year the Elks National Foundation, as well as our Lodge and the Florida Elks State Association, awards several scholarship grants to high school seniors and children already in collegiate schools. The Elks National Foundations Most Valuable Student scholarship has a top awarded of $60,000.00 and these scholarships are available to any high school senior. Most Valuable Student scholarship applications are available September 1st and only available by download from the ENF website at www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm. Applicants still will submit a hard-copy application to the Lodge by the December 6 deadline.

The Florida State Elks Association awards HOPE Scholarships each year and the mission of the HOPE Scholarship is to provide financial support for the educational needs of Florida high school seniors without which they would not be able to achieve their educational objectives. Since its inception in 2010, it has provided thousands of dollars annually to students across the state. The commitment of time and effort put forth by the Lodges, district, and state committees, all working together, results in the awarding of these scholarships. The 2014 applications will be available soon.

Our Lodge also offers scholarships to high school seniors and college students of our Bradenton Lodge Membership. These forms are available in the Secretary's office in the Lodge.

Do not delay gathering the required information for the scholarship applications, the deadlines are not far away.
